WELD Works helps employers get important work done while creating pathways to long-term employment.

Employment is essential, here are the facts:

Each year, hundreds of thousands of people return home from prison in the United States, and millions more cycle through local jails. Too often, they come home ready to work but shut out of opportunity. In 2023, state and federal prison systems released about 453,200 people, and national research continues to show extremely high unemployment among formerly incarcerated people.

In Washington, the three-year return-to-prison rate has recently been reported at about 22.2%, which is one reason access to stable work matters so much. WELD Works helps people coming home prepare for work on Day 1 and connect to real employment pathways through training, support, and employer partnerships.
